Broadband Applications: Video
over IP Video Over IP
Video over IP will explode in the next five years in the enterprise.
According to InStatMDR,
the worldwide market for Professional Video-over-Internet
Protocol (IP) services will top $2.2 Billion (US) during 2007,
exhibiting a powerful compound annual growth
rate of 45.3% between 2003 and 2007.
Bandwydth video over IP solutions include: Video on Demand, Interactive
Video, Streaming Video, and Videoconferencing.
Video on Demand (VOD) over IP
Bandwydth VOD networks can store video on a server and allow viewers
to stop, start, fast-forward or rewind the video as it spools.
This capability increases the effectiveness of video training and
education. VOD systems enable the viewer to control each broadcast
for intense study and review.
Interactive Video
Bandwydth enables firms to send and receive video broadcasts as
files. While this is different from real-time video, it can be
just as effective. Interactive tools enable single or multiple
viewers to interactively send recorded video broadcasts. With a
video IP backbone, e-mails could become video-mails. Customer service
and other customer relationship management (CRM) services are a
few applications of this format.
Streaming Video
Bandwydth has produced a suite of streaming video applications
for corporate communications. Webcasting popularized streaming
video. However today, video over IP networks are not limited to
Internet communication and can used just as effectively in the
enterprise. Streaming video is commonly used for meetings, presentations,
or classroom training.
Video streaming is also very useful for surveillance applications.
Bandwydth systems can be used to stream real-time video of multiple
locations across a network. Bandwydth sensor technology for motion,
heat, noise, etc. can be used to trigger video recordings or broadcasts
to security managers.
Videoconferencing
Videoconferencing (VC) is a real-time application, thus, it is
the most sophisticated video over IP technology. Bandwydth is an
authorized reseller for advanced IP videoconferencing systems and
equipment. IP camera and IP microphone technology easily fuse data
across hi-speed networks, superior to older, analog systems of
yesteryear. Today, video conferencing is not limited to corporate
communications, but is also part of sophisticated emergency management
processes, medical procedures, and other critical scenarios that
require real-time two-way video communications.
Bandwydth is committed to providing leading edge solutions to the
convergence marketplace. Our team offers expertise in data origination
technology (Telemetry) and custom PDA development for a number
